UPND Kalomo Central Member of Parliament Request Muntanga has refuted media reports that parliamentarians in Southern Province have turned against their Leader Hakainde Hichilema over the process of adopting parliamentary candidates in the forthcoming elections.Mr. Muntanga says there is no split in the party noting that the alleged cracks are just insinuations by the author of the story.
In an interview from Kalomo, Mr. Muntanga says the purported existence of a group called “the original late Anderson Mazoka dream carrier” are just sentiments coming from individuals who are worried that they might not be adopted.
Mr. Muntanga says there has never been any meeting by senior parliamentarians in the province to discuss the adoption of parliamentarians in the province.
The Kalomo Central parliamentarian says it is wishful for anyone to involve UPND president Hakainde Hichilema in the adoption of parliamentarians as he is not the one picks parliamentary candidates.
Mr. Muntanga says as far as the party is concerned, the party is intact adding that the top leadership in the province is still receiving applications from aspiring parliamentary candidates.
